Nothing wrong with Stryper. They're good musicians actually. I wouldn't call Oz's guitar a start actually. It's more Explorer type with sharpened corners.

Chris Holmes from W.A.S.P. played stars.

The one you're thinking of is Gus G who stood in for Arch Enemy during Ozzfest after their usual lead guitarist, Chris Amott, left the band to go back to school.

Roope Latvala from Children Of Bodom also uses a custom ESP Star.
