Starting my second Gauge guitar!

Well, I just got off the phone with Aaron (Blueline), and we decided on a piece of wood for the neck of the next guitar he's going to put together for me.

The body is going to be a double cutaway (one of Aaron's original designs) made out of Black Korina with a carved flame maple top. The deep set neck will be from a piece of AAAA birdseye maple, and will be inlaid with one of Aaron's inlay designs (he calls it the ninja star).

For pickups, I'm going with a Custom P-90 in the bridge, and a Vintage P-90 in the neck.

I'm considering a few different colors for the top, but as of right now I'm leaning towards a dark turquiose. From the pictures I have, it should look pretty killer.

It'll be a while before the guitar is complete (I'm paying as I go, and being a college student it can take time to get the scratch together), but I'll keep you guys posted as the project progresses.

I'm really looking forward to it.. I imagine the P-90's will sound killer with my Orange. I'm imagining a real nice modernized vintage tone.

the wood will be in the shop wihtin the next 2 weeks

To be honest, I may have to built a twinsie for myself
Blue finish - creme p-90s and a birdseye neck with abalone
I kind always wnated one of those myself

i have 4 other guitars in teh stew right now so this should be an interesting few months with pics

There's a trick that Duncan does for PRS (and for my custom wound Phat Cats).

They use a Custom neck version in the bridge to balance out with the Vintage neck (which is RWRP). The Custom is ceramic and the Vintage is A5. The less hot neck version of the ceramic seems to go very well with the neck A5.

Not sure how hot you like the bridge. Just thought I'd point that out. I don't like an overly hot bridge pup.
