Starting the "Spirit Bass" Project.

I have an old Embassy 4 bass that I am going to turn into a school spirit bass.

It will be purple with a gold racing stripe, sort of metallic. I have a friend who paints cars who will help me. I also just ordered a GFS Alcino P-Bass pickup for it. Hopefully that will sound pretty good.

I'll do some before and after pictures.

Before (Not the real bass, just a pic i found online.)
Exactly what it looked like

Re: Starting the "Spirit Bass" Project.

I thought you were going to try to turn it into a "Spirit by Steinberger" headless bass....

THAT would be impressive!

t3h hawtn3$$.

I like it d00d. It's nice

umm.....that was just too much internet mispellings for my taste.....

Re: Starting the "Spirit Bass" Project.

Put on more footy prints, wandering from the lower left up to the upper horn.

Re: Starting the "Spirit Bass" Project.

Yeah! More footprints... different sizes too!

How's the stock bridge? Slapping a Gotoh or a BadAss on there would make a large difference in tone... might help tuning too, especially if the saddle screws are prone to backing down.

This thing almost never drops tune, I'm putting in a nice graphite nut and replacing the pickup, if that doesn't make it better I'll get a new bridge, but its a really solid bass. Its ply wood, but its heavy sustains nice.

Re: Starting the "Spirit Bass" Project.

mpre footprints fo sho!! left corner to right horn sounds good, I'd go all the same size though to make it look like real tracks!

Re: Starting the "Spirit Bass" Project.

personally I think NO footprints :laugh2:

But if you have to... only one!

Actually I like the way your pshop thing looks.

Re: Starting the "Spirit Bass" Project.
