Here is my 13 year old niece holding my favorite guitar: a 20th anny singlecut! Hard to see the quilt and I am no photographer, but I figured I would post it up! Pickups in there are a double hex screw S-Deco 8 and a 'demon with double hex screws in the neck.View attachment 52398
I've discovered that you need plenty of light to get figuring to pop in a photo. Try setting a light at about 45° on one side and take your pics from varying angles (opposite side seems to work best for me). If you dont want to see the refelction of the lamp in the background, have somebody hold up a big sheet of tagboard and reflect the light off of it. Not only does this keep a direct reflection of the lamp off of the guitar on the pic, it also slightly softens the light it illuminates a broader area of your photo's subject. If you look up pics of a photo shoot, you'll see white panels either being held up by people, attached to stands, or both.
But, bright natural sunlight trumps all of that.
I never liked the wrap-around bridge that PRS puts on their guitars.
my main guitar is a '92 CE24. I worked at a big music store that had about 20 - 30 PRS's in stock at any given time. Once I had my mind made up that I was going to buy one, I tried every single one of those suckers that we had on hand. Even though my original intention was to get a Custom 24, I settled on the bolt-on CE24 because it had all the build quality and attention to detail that the more expensive Customs had, but for a grand less didn't have the 'bling' I.E. '10' top etc.
I wanted a PRS for the playabilty - not the beauty - and I'm glad I went that route because I have played the crap out of it. Friends who bought the Customs wound up playing/gigging with their guitars far less for fear that they might get damaged. I would suggest tracking down a pre-'95 CE24; they usually run between $1200 to $1800 on Ebay.
