I've noticed that with mine as well. For a while I was wondering if maybe I just got lucky and ended up with one that has an unusually sturdy neck.

Yup it's trans black. My phone camera doesn't do any of my guitars justice. The trem works perfectly; you can try to put it out of tune and she won't budge, and the nylon 'sleeve' that the whammy bar fits into works so much better than any screw-in bar I've ever tried. The middle position on the rotary switch is the two inside coils, in phase (I think), and that is my fave by a long shot. It's a sound I have yet to find on any other guitar, even with pickups wired exactly the same.
I also own a Mike Mushok signature baritone, which is a Korean SE. The quality is pretty good, but nowhere near the CE24. I once went to grab my gig-bag off my bed, in a big rush to get out the door, only to realize milliseconds later that I forgot to zip it up as the CE24 literally flew out of the bag and across the room. My brain turned it into a slow-motion sequence as the guitar bounced off the hardwood floor and skidded into the corner. Once I was able to pry my fist out of my mouth, I gingerly tip-toed over to it, expecting it to implode into different pieces any second . . . only to find that all I had to do was tune up the D string. They are built very well indeed.

My PRSi are all over a decade old or more so I can't speak to their modern production. I can say mine are about as kick ass as it gets though....

The fancy wood quilt and flame finishes have never been my thing but their new 7 string guitar caught my eye. And I've tried the Carlos Santana guitar and it sounded bold. I'm starting to change my mind.

I can't believe PRS even uses those plastic style vintage Les Paul tuners. If it were a cheap Asian knockoff of a Les Paul, I could understand, but PRS is a top tier US based guitar maker. IIRC, in an interview Paul Reed Smith likened his designs looking very similar to Gibson as being like a recording artist who's inspired by his or her contemporaries. I don't buy that ****. Those are Les Paul tuners.
