Stay away from boss me 50

If you don't like vox's tonelab or line 6's pod xt than stay far far away from anything cosm stompboxes from boss. It's the worst sounding piece of crap I've ever heard. Oh and those of you who think that the pod xt doesn't sound any bit like the real deal, then I suggest you ask your uncle Bill Gates for 2000$ everytime you want to buy something like a soldano or a mesa heads.

And now for the Top 10 Things Every Guitarist Shouldn't be without:

  • 10. Lots of picks. They're easy to lose so stock up.
  • 9. Inspiration. If you ain't got it, fuggetaboutit.
  • 8. Chops. And I'm not talkin' pork.
  • 7. A good, strong strap. How else you gonna stand up and play?
  • 6. A decent cable that won't short out on you. Nobody likes loud buzzes in the middle of a solo.
  • 5. An extra set of strings. They'll break at the most inconvenient time.
  • 4. A set of allen wrenches. Once you start tweaking stuff you'll be amazed at how many different sized wrenches you'll actually need.
  • 3. A good amp. Preferably one that gets really loud.
  • 2. Your guitar. Duh. After all, you're a guitarist.
  • 1. The Boss ME-50 guitar multi-effects processor. Never leave home without it.

;)

Re: Stay away from boss me 50

I would never get a multi effects processor. In my opinion, the effects sometimes aren't as good as a single stompbox that is specially calibrated/setup, or whatever you want to call it, for a certain effect. Take the Boss MT2 for example. It does distortion really well, but a ZOOM 505 can't do anything right :laugh2:

I would add to the list wire clippers, a screwdrive set, extra batteries, strap and straplocks, pot cleaner, ear plugs, and an equilizer..... patch chords are also a good idea.

Re: Stay away from boss me 50

I've got an ME-50, and for the money it's fantastic. I've swapped between mfx/singles many times, and I probably will again int he future, but for now it works for what I do :)

Re: Stay away from boss me 50

Ive tried my friends GT-6 and i though the tones ""I"" could get out of it were fantastic, the harmonizer is great too, i always used to hate it anytime he played anything when i was over there as he always had a tone that i didnt like an IMO thought it really sucked, but when i finally got to mess with it one day i found a huge amount of great tones...And man thats your opinion, alot of people like the ME-50 mabye its just not for you..

Re: Stay away from boss me 50

The ME-50 a bad sounding box? Not if you set it up right. Spend some time tweaking and there are some pretty cool wrinkles to it. I must say though that the Boss GT-6 blows it out of the water. It has so much more control it's not even funny. Also, with the GT-6, turn on the amp sims and plug into a tube power section into a speaker cab and it'll do anything you ask of it.

Ah exactly what i was thinkin.. The guy i know has a Fender twin of some sort and its a great platform for effects as its super clean..the amp sims are very convincing..

Never meaning no one will never make a multi-effects processor that could be better than a Boss MT2? I must be retarded.
