Steve Harris P bass Pickguard

hi, anyone know what the thickness of the chrome plated metal pickguard on steve's p bass or signature p bass. any info would be great. i contacted fender but they didn't have access to that spec, only that it was chrome plated brass. thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Fender USA single ply guards tend to measure 2 or 3/32". I cannot remember whether the guard on the claret and blue Fender SH signature P Bass was anodised metal or metallized plastic.

If it's brass, I'm assuming it's no more than half as thick as a plastic one due to the tonnage the stamping press would require to stamp it out, the cost of the material itself, and the cost of the plating process.
