Stew Mac pots, how are they?

It looks like they don't sell CTS, so how are their regular pots?

Also, I'm wiring up my Tele (eventually) for a single in the bridge and a hummer (Gibson 490r) in the neck. Is going with 500k vol/500k tone asking for blown eardrums? I'm not opposed to using my tone knob to mellow things out BTW.

Re: Stew Mac pots, how are they?

i don't mine Stew Mac's pots.... i must of bought 12 of the 500K's over the last few years....

Re: Stew Mac pots, how are they?

...and the tolerances are cool?

never even noticed stuff like that.... they work fine for me... i'd prefer the pots like older heavy dimarzios or the CTS of course but the Stew Mac pots work just fine.... i have them in a bunch of my guitars and i will order a bunch more too in bulk someday soon

Re: Stew Mac pots, how are they?

Are the Stew Mac pots made by Alpha? They sure look like it. Nothing wrong with Alpha brand, IMO.

Re: Stew Mac pots, how are they?

I didn't care for the Mexican made pots that showed up when I ordered pots from Stew Mac. I buy bulk CTS pots from Allparts...those are what I use and prefer. Lew

Re: Stew Mac pots, how are they?

Isn't CTS made in Mexico now?

Either way, the Stew Mac pots don't feel as smooth as CTS, but the tolerances are all within 10% and they hold up well.

BTW, they're the only guys I know of that carry long shaft push/pulls.
