As much as I love their articles, this one is a little late to the party. I knew about those types of boxes back in 2004 and they've been around for even longer in the DIY community.

I don't care much about true bypass vs. non-true bypass -- Yes, there's an effect, but I don't think of "tone" as a quantifiable thing, of which I can have more or less -- but I could probably find a use for being able to turn multiple pedals on and off at the same time with a single click. I'll have to think through my setup and see if there's a particularly practical application for me.
