STK-S4 Direct Fit in a USA American Series Strat?

Hi kind folks. I am new to this forum. I did a search on the STK-S4 but did not find my answer.
Will the STK-S4 fit into my stock Fender American Series Strat without any cutting of the pick guard?
I want to try one, but am concerned about it fitting.I looked at the STK-S4 dimesnions and compared them
to what I have in my Strat right now. I have a 1/4 pounder in
the bridge and neck. The STK-S4 looks wider. I am interested in trying other pickups just
for the sake of tinkering around.

Here is what I am thinking. JB Jr in Bridge. STK-S4 in neck. SSL-5 maybe in middle? If the
STK will fit. Thanks. Keith

Welcome to the forum.

SD Stack models with the moulded-on plastic covers fit genuine Fender pickguards with no issues.

The pickup series that used to be a problem sometimes was the original Li'l humbucker range with the taped bobbins and the plastic top plate.

In my opinion, on your guitar, selector switch positions 2 and 4 would sound more convincingly "Stratty" if the middle pickup were of vintage style output and construction. Even the SSL-4 Quarter Pound might serve.

Thanks Funk. Middle pick up more vintage style. I hear ya. I will do some more research and try several combinations.

Almost. I remember it was a slightly snug fit into the pickguard compared to the original pickup, not not a real problem. One one iteration of my strat I had an aftermarket pickguard (NOT Fender) where I ended up having to sand the pickup slots a little bit to get the stacks to fit.

But again, not a serious issue. For a middle I'd just go for another stack to be honest, or a normal SSL-1. I haven't been happy with any of the warm pickups I've tried in the middle position, it really takes away from the in between positions and ends up sounding kind of dull.
