stock axe, anyone???

Does anyone here play/own a guitar that is stock? I will set guidelines...

-Straplocks
-refrets
-replace broke parts
-removing pickup covers

These things will not count. That said, who leaves their guitars alone?

I don't know if this qualifies, but its close. The Johnson Strat in my sig. Completely stock except for two added tremolo springs, and tightening down the claw. This thing sounds amazingly good for being a cheap Strat.

Shoot . . . almost forgot, the Squier Strat in my sig. 100% bone stock. (Not worth modifying.) :laugh2:

A Gibson SG Special. Having said that, the 490r neck humbucker doesn't balance well with the 490t bridge pickup (set the amp for the neck, and the bridge sounds thin, set the amp for the bridge, and the neck sounds like mud). I like the bridge OK, so I might replace the neck pickup with a Seth (or replace both with Seths).

i have one strat that is still stock, simply because that is what i learned on and i don't feel like changing it. all the rest of my guitars have been modified in some way or many ways

I have a Rickenbacker 330 that I like to keep stock. It sounds way to good to change anything, IMO. :burnout:

Most of my stuff is dead stock. That's at least, in part, why I come to this board. If I can find the right replacement parts, I might consider a tweak.

My 78 SG Standard is stock with the exception of straplocks, the '91 Strat that I picked up when I was shifting to Fender is stock, again, not counting the straplocks. My '69 Rick 4001 is stock as far as I know.

I've left my Schecter C1+ stock for now. Eventually it will find some sort of USA Duncan set in it.

Edit: Forgot my bass. It's a '97 G&L SB2, all stock. That one will stay stock forever.

I don't forsee ANYTHING being kept stock in the future. The only exception being an acoustic (but not many people dare to work on one to begin with whereas electrics are much easier).

Three of my four PRS guitars qualify as "stock". I've added straplocks to 'em all and swapped the bridge pickup on the fourth.

My tele custom comes extremely close.

One of the tone pots has been replaced by a push/pull for a coil tap on the humbucker. It's a non-invasive, undetectable, two wire mod.

That's as close to stock as I can get. Even my custom built guitar is no longer 'stock'.

My 88 Peavey Vandenberg is supposedly stock but since I'm not the original owner I cant tell ya yes or no for sure.

My new Fender 50's reissue Strat I got a couple weeks ago is still stock, and I think I'm gonna leave it that way for a long time. I think the pickups even sound pretty good.

I have a BC Rich Exclusive that is totally stock, except I switched the volume controls, so the bridge volume is in the front. BC Rich puts some really sweet pickups in their cheap guitars.
