Stoner Rock / heavy rock pedalboard thread

Re: Stoner Rock / heavy rock pedalboard thread

I play in a stoner/doom band and have to have loud, thick, fuzzy, and killer tone. My board was really simple, but I bought a new one on Black Friday and added a few things on it. I HATE the EHX Memory Boy, it's getting changed out to Carbon Copy as soon as all of this ice and snow melts. My Pharaoh is a first run, pre-company pedal made by Mark (last one of the first run). Chain >> 1981 Yamaha SBG500 >> Morley Bad Horsie II Wah >> Black arts Toneworks Pharaoh fuzz >> Dunlop Q-Zone >> MXR Phase 90 >> TBD DELAY >> Danelectro Tuna Melt Tremelo >> Boss TU-3 Tuner >> 80s Peavey Butcher >> Orange PPC412 w/ V30 speakers. Loud, thick, and fuzzed out!

Dude . . . i really LIKE it.

I LOVE The amout/type of crunch you get in the beginning of song 2 (top one of the two)

That is deff my type of crunch / amount of dirt.

Do you use an eBow ? If not, i am pretty sure it WILL sound killer in your band's context. !

Thanks man! those were the vht's in 30 Watt mode on the clean channel cranked to about 3 o.clock, and.boosted. Its like a slightly heavier ac30. There's an Ebow in that song 2, it was a little sloppy and loud, but the final product is gonna sound better.

Re: Stoner Rock / heavy rock pedalboard thread

Here's mine, still a work in progress. I really didn't intend to have that many boss pedals, but it just kinda worked out that way. I think I have enough dirt with those 2 pedals and amp. That's not my wah either, just borrowing it.

Re: Stoner Rock / heavy rock pedalboard thread

How you liking the Big Muff PI ? I sold mine just because I got a Fulltone fuzz.

Love it. I thought you liked yours? I'm a huge fan of the Siamese dream tones, so this helps me get there. I have a deluxe big muff too, on another board. But my fuzz gas isn't satisfied yet, I'm looking for another piece to fit my board.

Oh I loved mine for that sound , the siamese dream sound but I prefer a more loose mid heavy fuzz so I settled on a Fulltone Ultimate Octave which is muff-ish but still has the mids there

How's the Deucetone Rat? Been looking at it, but no decent demos on youtube...

its sweet. i've never compared to a rat2 or vintage rat, but a lot of people say it sounds the same. i'm really liking the "clean rat" mode right now, which boosts my amp. turbo rat is pretty nice too. it has a lot of other cool features, like being able to plug into 2 amps, plugging in 2 guitars to 2 amps. This is a pretty good thread: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/archive/index.php/t-307492.html
