Strange Allen Holdsworth Jr. "AHJ" Pickup?

(edit: fixed my Allan Holdsworth name error)
Hello all, I've tried to do my Google due-diligence prior to posting here. I recently picked up a Warmoth tele that seems to have been build with parts from 1999 and before. The neck humbucker is a mystery that seems somewhat Duncan-like, such as a stamped sticker, but also seems a bit off. It's stamped "AHJ" and both bobbins have screw pole pieces, which which suggest a custom Allan Holdsworth Jr. pickup, or an AH wound by MJ, but there are a few red flags:
  • Blue ink stamp
  • Not consistent with other stamped AH pickups, such as AH1BE
  • Sloppy wax potting
  • Double screws, but cover only has one row of holes
So, here I am. My next step is to pop the cover off and see if has any SD branding, perhaps with an aftermarket cover, but I wanted to see if you all had thoughts before I get out the soldering iron. I've attached some photos for references, both of mine and a few from online searches for references.

Thanks all!

That appears to be a fairly early (circa 1981-82) Allan Holdsworth pickup. They didn't have pickup covers with 12 holes back then, so the 6-hole cover isn't surprising. That isn't a "sloppy" wax job, that's just what those old pickups looked like oftentimes. It's likely that the pickups experienced exposure to a bit of heat or sun over time which caused a bit of the excess wax to seep and collect on the baseplate.

Thank you everyone for the info, and sorry again for my sloppy typing. You guys are the best!
