Hello @ all,
im new here : popworm:
read a lot of threads, done some mods, very nice forum!
Have a question concerning the de-mud mod.
I installed the extremely usefull coil-swap mod in a jazz neck / jb bridge equipped guitar.
Very happy with the resulting neck tone, but the bridge tone in coil-swap mode had to much low end compared to the neck to be usefull.
so my keen invention
h: was putting a de-mud mod in by
(i used a 510k metal film resistor and a wima FKP2 0,01 cap) bridging the relating pins of the push/pull sw. works.
BUT
since that the normal tone contral acts more like a bass+high cut, bummer.
So why is that so?
maybe it has got something to do with the position in the circuit, in between the coils...?
Or the wiring of the normal tone pot in combination with that?
The cap is going from the left lug of the volume pot to the middle of the tone pot.
I think this is some kind of alternative wiring close to 50´s style...
Any ideas?
