Strange Fuzzface placement

So I've been tracking some stuff lately and wanted to use the Fuzzface on a specific part. I was running a Les Paul into the fuzz face and into a 'cranked to 11' JtM-45. When I had everything dialled in and hit record, I was greeted with this squealing sound whenever I wasn't playing. The squeal wasn't initially there, so I started messing around double checking that everything was plugged right and noticed that moving the fuzzface resulted in changing the pitch of that squeal. I eventually found a position that was dead quiet, which ended up being the following:

Has anyone ever experienced this with a fuzz pedal? Is this just a typical fuzzface thing?

Thanks for the link, I'll check that out!

Things where definitely loud, but that's the sound I was going for. There wasn't any issue at first, it's only when I paused for a bit to setup the recording gear and came back to it that it started. What you see is the setup I ended up with to not get any noise when not playing.

I did forget to mention the OCD in my original post, but it is placed after the Fuzzface, not before. They're not used simultaneously all the time. It's a hard rock track though, so things needed to be dirty!

Check your cables (patch and main leads) as well as the input/output jacks in the pedals. (Unscrew the back covers, and with the covers off, insert 1/4" plugs) Check the cables for shorts/opens and check the jacks to see if they are shorting out to anything.

Fuzz Face is a simple circuit that can amplify all kinds of stray noises. Not sure if that's the problem, but that's where I'd start.
