so i have a set of Evos in my Jackson DXMG. Wiring is like this: 2xVolume(both push/pull for singlecoil split); no tone; 3-way blade switch.
So what i've experienced is that whenever i turn on the mid position on the switch, the sound will become a little less defined and punchy than both the neck or the bridge alone. Everything becomes alittle more bassy and not as tight as before.
There are two things that might be the problem:
-a not so good solder joint(but the sound is compeltely there, just a little different, no output drop or anything)
- Vai doesn't have a both-humbuckers-together switch position on his guitars, so could it be that this is just the nature of the beast and the evos won't work to well with both hums in parallel(middle)? The sound great each on their own but the mid position is lacking.
any additional thoughts or ideas what it could be?
