Strap that doesn't stick to skin.

I'm looking for a strap for playing shirtless. I want something that does't stick to skin so that I can move the guitar around to different positions.

I picked up a cheap nylon web strap that sort of works but is itchy as hell. If that's the best I can hope for I'll live with it but if there's something better...

Re: Strap that doesn't stick to skin.

You could add an outer cloth layer to it, basically stitch it to the strap. Dont need to cover the whole strap but the underside of the strap area that is likely to be in contact with skin. There might be a fabric based strap out there as well but not sure if it would be strong enough to hold the weight of a guitar.

Those levys wear tear straps are made of cotton. Pretty good straps too!

Man, i know your struggle...but for me the Dimarzio Cliplock strap did the trick, you should try it. It's not expensive either, and works as a strap lock at the same time. Its made of nylon, but like...seatbelt material, its not itchy or anything, really comfy too I would say.

Oh, another thing...when you solve the strap problem, another thing might show up when playing live...the back of the guitar gets real sticky when sweating too(unless you have it incredibly low) and there seems to be no solution for that...

I went and picked up a Levi's Cotton strap and it seems good so far. I'll know for sure when they tempature skyrockets again (today is cool and overcast).

Thanks everyone.

Throw a bit of baby powder on your shoulder. A little bit on your fretting hand won't hurt either.

I actually bought a Levys leather strap for playing live and it was better than I expected. Never played shirtless but it is really comfortable to have on.

+1 on the Levy's cotton straps. They're well made and won't stick to your skin.

I like leather straps with the suede side on my shoulder. It doesn't slide all over but it doesn't really stick either.

two words: Shoulder Pad, get an d'addario one and slap it on your strap, get your shirt off, rock the hell outta there

That's what I used to prefer when I focused primarily on rhythm. Lately I'm putting far more effort into becoming a better lead guitarist and instead of raising my guitar so I can reach the upper frets better I'm shamelessly stealing all of Slash's stage moves.... hence the need for a strap that lets me move the guitar around better.
