Straps

Re: Straps

Yeah Goldenboy, that's the famous Duane "loop strap." Mine doesn't look exactly the same, but it's the same idea. I think the reason I decided not to use it on my Les Paul is because I don't like straps with metal parts near the flametop. I use it on my beatup sunburst strat, so it doesn't matter if the metal loop accidentally whacks the finish.

Re: Straps

The picture I most associate with Duane is him with that strap on a Goldtop.

I was thinking about doing a strap similar. I thought George Harrison had a strap something like that.

Re: Straps

I just have a really nice black suade strap that my girlfriend bought me. I just use that all the time now.

I never go near nylon ones, I heard a story about nylon straps ruining the finish on the guitars. Chemical reaction of something.

I don't like designs or any other BS on guitar straps. I have two old-school black leather straps, both setup with Schallers. All my guitars get Schaller posts, so they all use the same strap. I recently switched over from DiMarzio Clip-lock straps, which I still like, but not as much as the black leather.

I'm looking for a real basic, black leather strap to match up with some Schallers. Where did you get yours JB?

Re: Straps

Have a plain black nylon with the kramer, and just bought a black leather levys for my new Dean. has a flame pattern stitched into the strap. looks cool but not too imposing. Im with mincer on not having a strap that takes attention off me and the axe

Re: Straps

I use the plain black Levy's ones. Thick leather ends with Schaller straplocks through them, and plain black cotton for the main bit of the strap.

Just a tip Golden Boy, vacuum the rug before using it as the background for pictures LOL.

Ha-Ha!! Nice on bruvva!

I have a few of those planet-waves ratchet closing types. But they don't feel too comfy, But are fairly secure. But my PRS wide suede strap is my fav. Comfort! And for the headstock heavy axes, it bites and grips thy clothing and prevents axe movement. Sweet. More wide leather for me.

Duane's ring is mad...Which makes me thing of that big chap in Type O Negative. Chain??, oh good grief....

Re: Straps

Damn, I've never thought so much about straps before. Perhaps it's time I did; all of mine are Ernie Ball Guitar Center standard straps. Booooooooooring.
