Which years/models of American strats can go for the H/S/H setup like Dave Murray from Iron Maiden had for years? I want to do this to a guitar without cutting it up at all. I believe the late 80's ones fit humbuckers but I just want to know which particular models. Thanks.

From what i've saw, the newer "American Series" models that appeared in 2000 brought back the H/S/H body route as a testament to their "more wood=more tone" advert. But in older models, particularly ones from the mid to late 90's, i've noticed that they have the "swimming pool" route. This is basically just a big rectangular open cutout that allows for virtually any pickup combination. I personally would prefer this type of route, but thats just me.
