Strat GAS questions

Re: Strat GAS questions

Thanks for the input guys.

I think I found one. It's an American Deluxe Stratocaster in Aged Cherry Burst with a rosewood board. I really like the feel of a gloss maple neck, but this one just called to me.

I'll post pictures soon. I gotta go back and actually get it first. :-)
I sometimes like to sleep on these things. If it's gone, I guess it wasn't meant to be.

When I first played my Martin D-15M at the GC, I only picked it up because it looked so odd (with a dark mahogany top), I fell in love. I must have played it for a half hour, until my daughter made me put it down. I came back a week later and bought it.

Re: Strat GAS questions

The Clapton signature has been made for a long time, and has come in several colors. Fender list four on their Website currently (including pewter, which is smokin' hot), and I know they have also been made in Candy Green and other colors in the past.

If you like the Clapton specs, you should get the Clapton, or modify one to match its specs. A "regular" Strat won't do as a replacement; it is a different animal IMO. Very Gibson-esque in tone, and with different on-board tone controls.
