Strat: JB Jr for bridge and Little '59 for neck. Suggestions for the middle pickup?

Hi!

I'm considering JB Jr and Little '59 for one of my Strats. What pickup would You suggest for a middle position? The goal is more defined and less bottomly sound than Cool Rails, which I have there now. I'd prefer humbucker there or a noiseless single pickup.

Regards, Andy :)

STK-S4. I use one in the middle that is RW/RP when I operate it in split coil mode via push/pull volume pot. Great middle pickup.

Don't forget the "Everything Axe" set - Little '59 neck, Duckbucker middle and JB Jr. bridge. You can get them as a set or even in a pre-wired pickguard. The Duckbucker keeps the quack in the 2 and 4 positions.

The Duckbucker is the only pickup that would do the job and look the part at the same time, then you have an "Everything Axe".

Thanks guys. I actually look for a pickup which may give me some "glass" to the tone in a positions 2, 3 & 4, not exactly I'm after the "quack" :). Currently I use Hot Rails in a bridge and Cool Rails in a middle and neck, but with the Engl Invader there's too much bottom and boominess. Judging by the YT clips JB Jr and Little '59 should give me more cutting tone, still retaining full saturation and balanced tone.

Regards, Andy :)

THe SSL-1 is "the" glass pickup.

Yes I know. But I forgot to add that I'd like to have all hum-free set :)

The STK-S4 is also glass. It is basically voiced similar to the SSL-1 with no hum. It is a vintage strat tone in a stacked humbucker. It is very capable of the quack at 2 and 4. The STK-S4 best fits what the OP is looking for IMO.
