Strat Neck question

if i had a 21 fret neck strat,
can i replace the neck with a 22 fret one?

Yes but only with the type with an overhanging fingerboard extension. The heel of the 22 fret neck must conform to the 21 fret neck specification.

Correct.

Take a look at the Warmoth website. I'm not suggesting that you buy from them but they explain this issue pretty clearly.

And most 22-fret necks do have this overhang, so it shouldn't be an issue.

would it be a problem if i put a Squier Standard Strat neck (22 fret) on my Encore strat copy(21 fret) ?
or will it cause issues?

As long as the heel fits and the 22 fret neck has the extension hangover you should be fine. Strats are fairly interchangeable.

You have to be careful about pickguards though. Some aftermarket and even Fender guards may be too thick. If you tighten the neck down and the pickguard is too thick, you can distort the overhang and cause the last fret to raise and all kinds of string buzz hell can occur. It happened to me and a few other people I know who either changed necks or pickguards.

ive checked my Encore strat neck,the fingerboard is the same length as the heel
so installing a squier stndrd strat neck with a overhang fingerboard wont be a problem?
