Strat p/u's to match humbucker output.

I'm looking to not change amp settings too much when switching guitars..I have a Les Paul with a Custom bridge, and Pearly Gates neck..Currently in the strat is a full size JB. in the bridge, a Cool Rails middle, and a Little '59 in the neck...I like the bite, and crunch of the JB., but the '59 in the neck is a little too boomey for the guitar..I'm not opposed to changing all 3 p/u's..What are some good options for a H/S/S Strat, to go from Metallica to S.R.V., and will be in the same ballpark output-wise as the Custom/Pearly Gates combo? Adler body, Rosewood board..

Why don't you try first to wire the '59 in parallel instead of series?

If you split that Lil 59 neck, you'll like it, but it won't be hum canceling.

After trying the parallel and split wirings for the Lil 59, and if those doesn't work for you, consider the STK-S4 neck.

For sure. Sound is quite bit similar to a coil split (therefore a single coil pickup) but, it's hum cancelling.
It's a good trick to open and give more definition and sparkle to any humbucker. The output will be reduced, as well.
Just try it.
Black & Red wires together, to where the black wire currently is.
White & Green & Bare together, to where green and bare are currently ground.
That's all

I'd put a CC and two hot rails.

The little '59 is a fuzzy little thing.

I also really like the StratBro90s in P90 mode.

I have never had an issue as long as I can raise my pickup height.

humbuckers that are wired in parallel sound more strat-like. humbuckers run in series sound more les paul-like. as a first go, try running that neck pickup in parallel and see how you like the sound. also adjust the height of the pickup.

With the exception of the Invader the humbuckers get way too thin in parallel.

The resonance frequency is even higher than split, in fact much higher than split.

How much output do you lose when humbucker is wired in parallel compared to series?
Is it noticable?

It's pretty much all gone. Humbucker coils in parallel are very wimpy. As I said only the Invader can really do it, although you can sometimes put a JB to good use in funk or something.

parallel would be the least output, with split being more and series being full power. it just takes a few minutes to change up the wiring. it's worth checking out to see if it something that might work for you. if not, at least you'll know for certain.

i notice no loss of output when i switch between series and parallel.
