Strat Pickup Order

I am trying out a set of CS 54/62 strat pickups. There is no documentation that states what order the pickups should be installed i.e. neck, middle, bridge.

The magnets all are the same polarity and the wires are all the same length.

So what I did was measure the output with a meter, two are about the same and one is a little hotter. I put the hot one in the bridge.

The middle pickup sounds the best which has never been the case with my other strats.

So, does the order matter? And how do I figure which goes where?

it sounds like you did it right

I'm not familiar with that set, but I'm surprised that the middle isn't RWRP - maybe they were going for authenticity

Thanks for replying Curly.

The the thing that got me questioning this in the first place is I have the switch that lets all three pickups on at the same and in that postion I get somewhat of a volume drop/flattening happening. So I thought maybe there was some type of cancelling effect going on.

I was thinking about swapping them around to see if it changes but on second thought I will leave it alone. And also I have six other switch positions that sound good.
