Strat Pickup question

First off, Hi everybody (my first post).

Like the title says, I'm hoping for some input on Strat pickups. The guitar is a standard (Mexican) Fender strat, in the H/S/S configuration. About 2 years ago, I swapped out the stock humbucker for a TB-4 JB, and absolutely love it (and was completely sold on Seymour Duncan when I got a set of Full Shreds for my Rhoads V). So, I'm starting to feel like the time has come to upgrade the other two pups. I generally play metal (classic/NWOBHM/thrash), but have been known to dabble in everything from blues to neoclassical.

As of right now, the STK-S2 Hot Stack has caught my ear, but I don't know how it/they would balance with the JB in the bridge, or what some other good options would be.

Any input, comments, suggestions, etc... would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Why not try some classic stack + neck and mid, keep the JB in the bridge. Then you have the OEM spec for the SL1 USA Jackson Soloist. (Seems classic enough for me).

Welcome to the forum Raptor.
According to the tone chart the STK-S2 matches up ok but may be louder than the JB. The Quarter Pound looks like it would be a good choice.

It's better to go with the sounds that make you happy, than the volumes that make you happy. Plus, there's an exchange period for a reason.

Thanks for the welcome and the info guys :)

I've got some time to read/listen/think about it (and any more input would be greatly appreciated)

Re: Strat Pickup question

Hot Rails neck. Trust me. It's what you need for metal.
Leave the middle stock.

Ask Dave Murray. ;)
