i remember seeing this in the old forum.
if you have a strat, this may be the most versatile, non-invasive and totally reversible mod you can add for a whole palette of tones.
it replaces your tone knobs with a rotary switch and/or push/pull pot that works in tandem with your 5-way switch for up to 16 tones. neat stuff!
