I have a duosonic, and love the 3/4 neck, but I also like the strat body. I'd like to put a duosonic neck on a strat body (did I surprise any of you with that one? :duh: )
My understanding is a little limited but it seems to me the bridge would have to be moved up to make for the proper scale length right? I'd like to stick with two pickups (I get distracted with switching things around)..probably an invader and a vintage noiseless.
The question is now much would I need to work on her cosmetically? I imagine after moving that bridge up (probably filling in the bridge pickup slot) the old bridge mounting holes would show, and she'd need paint...
She'd need a custom pickguard as well, anyone know anything about this? The Vibrato is of no consequence, since I'd prefer a hard tail bridge anyway. I'd use the space in the back for the springs for a Clapton-style mid boost comp.
Any help would be appreciated. In the end this project would probably be too big for me to handle :grumble: , but I'd really love to do it someday :headbang: , and I'm just thinking it through.
While I'm at it, anyone know where I could get ahold of custom color lacquer for finishing my guitar...I think Kermit Green would be awesome.
If I can't do this project now, I'll just have to wait till I am a famous rock guitarist and have Fender build me one...like freakin Tom Delonge.
