STRATDELUXER please explain

So I am going through my "I wish I was Blackmore/Iommi" stage(Blackmore leads/Iommi riffs and rythms) and I just can't stop thinking about BSM reissues.
Now, I still love your TS9, and I refuse to try any new gear without running your TS9 after my #1(start). However, these treble boosters really "bother" me. I am thinking of the BSM RM-Metal Treble Booster and the BSM HS-C Treble Booster. How these would be different from YOUR TS9? I don't wanna copy the tones of Iommi and Blackmore, but I do want that texture of those mids and punch present on my stuff. Thanks John.

I'm not sure if I'm the best guy to answer your question since I'm not a treble booster using kinda guy really? If you crank up the volume and dial the drive way back on your TS9,you basically have a booster but it does color your tone...I don't think the TS9 ever gets you into a Rangemaster kind of boost though...The Dallas Rangemaster was the pedal Clapton,Iommi, and May used early in their careers.

Hey I have a related question..is the Rangemaster circuit simple to build? I saw some schematics for it, and it doesnt seem to have too many parts.

Re: STRATDELUXER please explain

Hey thanks..I have checked out that site before..cool stuff there. I was afraid of this, getting a good Ge transistor would be a PITA.

Thats basically what I do with my TS9. I roll the gain all the way down, tone all the way up and volume to suit how much I want to push the tubes. Works great with my Bogner Shiva!

Re: STRATDELUXER please explain

Getting a good Ge isn't all that hard really. www.smallbearelec.com has ones for 10 bucks each, and Aron at diystompboxes.com has em for 6 bucks each, and thats NPN too so you can power it using a boss daisy chain (negative ground). Both sources are great really.

I definately recommend building the rangemaster, its about as easy a build as one can do. And smallbearelec.com has everything in stock for the project, and even sells a bundle of metal film resistors specifically tailored for the exact transistor you buy (if you buy from him).

Highly recommended! Easy build, great results!

Cool..one of these days maybe I'll try to build it..;)
