70's headstock would certainly stop me from buying a Strat. Or any Fender. Or Gibson, for that matter, LOL.

I just don't really like what Fender or Gibson where up to design-wise in the 70's.

Out of the two I like the small one better, the 70's style one kinda looks like if you were drawing it in a cartoon that's how you might draw it.

I'm kinda sick of both to be honest after all these years. If I ever do replace my Strat necks via Warmoth I have actually been thinking that I'll go with the Warhead headstock, or maybe the Nomad one. Something different anyways.

Hadn't thought of it that way, but I fully agree, LOL.

I have a partscaster that started life as a MIM Road Worn. That one had a great-feeling neck. Kinda thin-ish and C-shaped, with a cool worn finish on the back of the neck, but the truss rod didn't work correctly. So I replaced it with what Fender are calling their "neck built for speed". It's kinda disappointing, TBH. The only thing that I like better on the new neck is the flatter fretboard (which is still 12", so not THAT flat). It's not THAT thin (I remember it being like 21mm thick at the first fret, I think), and it's roasted Maple, but it's THAT stable either, LOL.

I wouldn't recommend it, to be honest. Should've gotten a Warmoth Wizard or whatever.

I’m a battle tested old musician who started gigging in 1980 and hit the dive bars playing Iron Maiden, Priest, UFO,MSG, Triumph,Riot, AC/DC/,Zep, etc……

This is the only guitar I could afford, along with a Peavey Mace full stack tube amp.

I played this guitar like my life depended on it.

I know this is VERY hard to believe, but nobody ever came up to tell me during or aftet a gig to tell how hideous my Antigua Strat was.

I come to out many years later that my Antigua is THE most despised color of Strat that exists.

I was a 19 yr. old when my dad, who is no longer living, took me to buy it as my first “REAL” guitar. This is the ONLY guitar he bought me before he passed in 1987.

My ‘75 Mocha & ‘79 Antigua BIG headstock Strats.
