does all strat-like guitar can fit fender strat neck??
i have an old strat-like guitar with no headstock logo that i bought in korea a long time ago..the neck and frets look old and worn..can i replace it with fender neck??

Re: stratocaster neck question

They should fit since most were meant to be exact copies, but some of them, especially the older ones, weren't built to the same tolerances.

I'd try to find one to borrow for a little bit before I bought one. That, or find the specs for a fender neck pocket and compare them to your guitar.

Re: stratocaster neck question

In short no.
Measure your neck pocket width. Fender Strats are a nominal 2 3/16 inches.
I have Fender copy where the neck pocket is 2 1/8 inches and have seen bodies and necks on eBay at 2 1/4 inches width.

There are other differences also such as the pocket being made longer so that a neck 22 frets long will fit. Fender has the fretboard overhang the neck a little to get that 22nd fret.

So you need to do some measuring or look into getting the current neck refinished and refretted. But I think old and worn necks look cool - says you've been playing the guitar not looking at it.

thanks bert, it looks cool..very much like relic strat..if i change the neck, it'll look awkward..a worn body with hard scratches and a beautiful neck..i've to think bout it all over again..
