Strats and pickups....

I have a feeling I'm not going to like the pickups in the strat I've built. So I've already started bracing myself. I want this to be a more versitile guitar than my high output monster I already have. I am interested in the Custom, but don't know if it can do Phish and stuff like that. I want really nice cleans but not too low of an output. Which pickups work best in a STRAT? I know Seths and APHs work magic in Les Pauls, but this is an ash, maple necked strat with rosewood fingerboard. Which pickups do the best in the strat do you think? It's going to be a H/S/H config. Right now I'm liking the Custom Custom/lil Screamin Demon/Jazz possibility. Would that matcha and work well? Thanks.

Some guys have said that the Custom Custom is the remedy for the strat bridge. Others say the tremspaced 59. I'm just parrotting what I've heard.

Yeah, it does as of now, and a '59 trem bridge. But I've never liked single coils, and I hope I will like these. If the bridge can provide enough heat for gain, then hopefully I can keep the pickups, because I can't deal with single coils in OD.

Re: Strats and pickups....

So anyone have anything that wouldn't work with the CC/Lil Screamin Demon/Jazz setup? Anyone have experience with any of these pickups (Jazz neck, CC, lil screamin demon) in a strat? Should I get neck or bridge LSD?

Re: Strats and pickups....

Let me know if you want to swap that 59 trembucker.
