Damn, I got nothing. Being out of neck adjustment would have me thinking hard about a return. It may be fixable, half ass sounds like the neck isn't set well/is loose, but you're gonna need someone with some actual luthier experience, I'm shooting in the dark at this point. Hope it works out.

I had that problem before on my lp copy. It was the bridge causing buzz/rattle.

Check the height/intonation adjustment area of the bridge. Assuming your bridge is same as mine(cant tell from esp pics), there may be a single thin wire/string being held by the intonation adjustment screws. Touch/Press on it when the string is ringing out, if the buzz goes away then we found the source.

Edit:Also reading the initial post, your action seems low at 12fret, raising it slightly may help, also for neck relief at 7th/8th fret, the thickness of about a credit card works better I've found.

My first thought is that the neck is too flat, as well. There is no reason a properly set up guitar should start buzzing overnight, unless there was a surprise heat wave, and you left it in the car. Something moved. My guess is that the neck straightened out.

I picked it up from the tech today. It still has a good bit of buzz. But it's a little better all of the notes don't completely fret out. He straightened the neck and lowered the bridge. Which I am not super happy about because when I drop the top string down it's nothing but a buzz and rattle. So I took it to the store I got it from so their tech could check it under warranty. He said everything on it was right and sent us out the door.
He told me as per esp warranty that if I adjusted the truss rod it was voided. The kicker is they had another just like it instock that I compared. The action was lower. The neck was almost straight and the frets were dull. Even with its rusted strings it did not buzz half as bad as mine. They would not let me exchange without paying a $150 restocking fee So I passed

Holy **** dude, I guess you know where to not buy another guitar ever again, our strings, or anything else. How are they going to prove you did anything to the truss rod. What a bunch of crap, I gotta stop, this is just going to devolve into a bunch of angry sailor talk.

They use these type of 'escape clauses' to avoid any expense on their part. Had the same thing with a coffee maker that went back a couple of times for faults. They said that I'd opened it up and they wouldn't do any more work on it.......it was obviously costing too many service hours and they wanted to invent something to get out of it.

No way. I don't believe a self set-up invalidates warranty. Contact ESP directly and ask.

Any guitar that you, as the end user, cannot adjust the truss rod on is a guitar that you do not need to own. Most guitar companies provide an allen wrench specifically for that. Your "tech" does know that guitars neck aren't actually supposed to be perfectly straight right? They need to have a little relief midway down the neck for the the string to vibrate in.
Are you detuning down to some low drop-tune key? If your strings do not have enough tension on the neck, some guitar necks will be naturally backbowed, and no adjustment of the truss rod will fix it. If that is the case, you may need to use a tuning closer to standard. Did your tech check for high frets? It could be that the frets were never leveled.

I took it back to the shop I got it from. They let me return it I am the 3rd person to return the guitar. Everyone has returned it for the same reason. So now my search is on again.

Glad you got a result, I was going to say either the truss rod was faulty or the bridge.... hope you find a killer deal.

Man I would go back to your original thoughts and check out the S2 line, the Singlecut Standard is a killer guitar.

I might want to look at another store. After the 2nd person returned it, they should have sent it back to the manufacturer. They had no business putting it back on the wall for other people to have the same problem. It probably went out of your hands onto the wall for the next person.

I would like to try those lace's again. Just to see how much was the combination of the guitar and pickups. I think they would sound good in a brighter guitar. In the ltd they were almost too thick. But they did sound good.
