string not touching saddle

the Low E on my acoustic is just hovering over the saddle without making contact with it at full pitch.
what should I do?

Re: string not touching saddle

I have never had a guitar with a bridge like that.

I guess either the pin isn't pushed down correctly or the bone saddle is too low and not set up correctly.

Re: string not touching saddle

I would guess that someone cut the bridge wrong or the pin isn't seated properly but without having it in front of me I can't diagnose it properly.
Take it to a tech, it's an easy fix if its the bridge..

Re: string not touching saddle

It is physically impossible for the string not to touch the saddle at some point with that bridge. You can even see that it is bent over the saddle.....hence it is making contact.

The question is 'where' is it making contact, and if in fact that the bridge is in fact shaped so that the intonation is tweaked to be better by sculpting the shape. If so, maybe the string is contacting more toward the back edge....which would be precisely where I would expect a low E with fixed/compensated intonation to sit.
