string problem?

i got a fender strat with floydrose and locking nut.

the problem is that it gets out of pitch very often.
(only a little, still an E, but usually little flat).
and i am talking about the last 3 strings (G, B, E).
they are all changed to d'addario strings after those fender strings died.

i have checked that i have locked the nut.
this happens even i dont use the floydrose.
could it be because of it's not using fender strings?

Re: string problem?

It can't be about the string brand. Did you change all your strings? How long have they been on, have you stretched them properly?

Re: string problem?

Is the Floyd bridge floating, or is it flat against the body? Either way, make sure you have the spring tension set properly. It's possible that your bridge isn't coming all the way back to the initial position after you use the bar.

Sometimes I've seen the knife edge on Floyds and Wilkinsons (and AM STd bridges) get bent or worn out. I usually shape them up carefully with a Dremel. Check your knife edges and make sure they are still in the proper shape.

nope....the E A D strings are the original ones when i got my gutiar in march.
while the others are D'addario.

the E A D strings : i never change them if they still dont brake.

but the others : i used to not change them too if they dont brake.
but they becomes black.

Re: string problem?

I have to say that I disagree strongly with your guitar stringing methods. IMO, one should change their strings as often as time and money allows. If I were rich, I'd change them every week. But to your problem:

Are you sure you stretched them properly?
