String Recomendations for Eb Tuning

Alright, so i want to get my Jackson DK2M setup for Eb tuning but am not sure what guage to use.
I dont want them too thick and tense but i dont want them feeling loose and flimsy either.
I had a 12-56 set on my RG in D standard tuning. Daemon BBQ suggests 10-52 but i dont know if that 52 will be too tense or not.
'm not really sure what will work or be good for this application to be perfectly honest. I was originally going to get it setup for standard tuning with 10-46's though if that means anything.

Oi! I'm pretty good at this stuff. If you were comfortable with 10-46 in standard tuning, you might want to stick with that for 1/2-step-slack. If it's too floppy, go for 11-52. On my 25.5"-scale guitars, I prefer 10-46 for standard tuning and 10-52 for drop-D tuning.

I'm using 11-54 (56? dunno). It's great for Eb it's also great for Eb drop C#. Very heavy.

That said I'm considering at my next restring to go to 12s. It's really what you're comfortable with and you'll eventually get used to whatever guage you put on there.

Usually, one gauge higher than what you'd use for std tuning.

Personally, I think Eb feels and sounds the best with 11-48....a regular 11 set.

Anything thicker than 11's, and you'll need to reslot the nut. Then, if you change back to 9's or 10's, you may need to change the nut.

I tune all my guitars down, and while I used to run 10s on everything, I have come to enjoy the 9s here lately.

I use 11's (DR pure blues) on my strat with buckers & i used to on my SG. I love them, can't say enough about them. I used to tune the SG to Eb to play GNR & such a lot, & man those strings ripped... if you don't dig DR, I would still say 11's would be the best bet.... but I'm biased.

i've been tuning to Eb with 10-46 since i was 17 with a few side trips to try others here & there but i just feel comfortable with the 10-46.

+1 on that. But only on 25.5" scale. on 24.75" I need to go 1 step heavier: 11-52
