String Though Tele Trem ?

True gearhead that I am, I'm on another mod binge, this time tricking out my Fender Tele. One of the things I'm looking for is a tremolo for the string-though body, using a standard Tele bridge format. Do you guys have any ( positive ) recommendations on the subject ? Are there any reasonable accommidations that coiuld be made to deal with such a request ?

Thanks !!

What I've seen done that sometimes comes out really well is that people cut off the back of a Tele ashtray style bridge, so that all that's left is the part that holds onto the pickup, and then they mount a 6-screw Strat trem in back of that.

This is one that Joel Terry did. From his pics at TDPRI:

I think he's done a few of these.

Someone else has done them with flat plate style Tele bridges. I suppose it depended on what they had on hand to work with.

OK, that has to be the coolest thing I ever saw. However, I'm not that talented ( nor do I know anyone who can do that ) so I decided to go with a factory after market Bigsby ( See below ). ****ed if you guys don't totally rock & have a solution for the whacky stuff I cook up.

That Bigsby looks intersting. Be sure to let us know how that works out. Here's how Leo Fender did it on the G&L, Asat Classic:

I like the look of the big tele bigsby bridgeplate that uses the Jag bridge (to help keep in tune ;))

I've seen a few people put an actual Jag trem behind that... ought to give more range than a bigsby, and have a more fendery aesthetic :)

tele deluxes had a strat bridge standard, but I don't think that's what anyone means.

That is the kind I got. I figured I would have to mess with the neck angle less if I went with the jag bridge. Plus I like the look of 2 massive hunks of steel at the end of the body. Its kinda having a wagin you're draggin.
