Hello people,
so I'm just about finished with a project bass of mine that I've been using for quite some time to try things I wouldn't want to do to any of my more expensive instruments myself. I'm cutting a new wood electronics cover and truss rod cover but I also want to convert it to a through string configuration which my current bridge seems to support. I'm familiar with how to get the holes on location and going straigt but my concern is with the string digging into the wood on the front side of the body due to the small slot toward the front of the hoel. Is this a concern I should be worried about and if so what is the easiest fix? I've thought about adding some of those straight cyclinder ferrules to the front just to stop them from digging but I'm somewhat worried about that just looking dumb tbh.
Thanks in advance
