Strobosoft for intonation - any good?

Well..... as the topic title says. I have a TU-2, but I don't think it is all that great on intonation..

Re: Strobosoft for intonation - any good?

the strobosoft is at least 30x more accurate than the TU-2. So if you are doing intonation, the Peterson is the way to go.

Try it. Does the same job as strobosoft. Software based and accurate to the cent. Just not as slick. I have not had any problems with it. YMMV

All you need to try it is the download, and an 1/4" to 1/8" adapter for your soundcard.

Oh, and it is not free, it is shareware. If you like it, pay for it.

when i was helping out at a guitar shop they had strob tuners for set ups.. i could not get used to it.... it was way too sensitive in a way..... great machine but i found the normal tuners did a faster job.... i tried the strob time after time but time is money in those places.. And i was only working on cheap junk.... not high end stuff

Re: Strobosoft for intonation - any good?

yeah, normal tuners will be faster, since they aren't nearly as accurate. as a result, a setup, cheap guitar or not (cheap guitars might need the accuracy more), it will sound better when done right with an accurate tuner.

Re: Strobosoft for intonation - any good?

i just re-tweaked a couple of my guitars that were intonated using a sabine tuner and "looked" to be set properly but still sounded a little off. Picked up a strobostomp to add to pedalboard and used it to re-do the intonation on the suspect guitars and sure enough they were a little out. They sound perfect now.

Love the strobo. Nice bright easy to read screen, super accurate.

Re: Strobosoft for intonation - any good?

Think I'll go with the AP tuner first, and see if I need the Strobosoft..

Re: Strobosoft for intonation - any good?

I'd been eyeballing a strobostomp for some time and through this recommendation downloaded the ap tuner software. I must say I didn't realize how far out my TU-2 was until I used the ap tuner for a set-up. I'll probably continue to use my tu-2 for gigging but a peterson strobosoft for the board will be in the very near future!!!!
