Strymon Brigadier - dBucket Delay vs Deja Vu delay

Well, with the previous mention of Strymon and Damage Control convergence/merger, I was wondering anyone's opinion of the two delays. I visited the website and listened to the video and sound samples. I own the Deja Vu.

My observations: Basically what the $299 Strymon Brigadier does is add a few switches to narrow the control the knobs have. However in essence, it does exactly what the $249 Deja Vu does. Now I know the tone would be different and they do add the ability to control any of the parameter knobs with an expression pedal where the Deja Vu is limited to just two. The Brigadier also offers a boost of 3db to the delay signal if needed. Other than that I see little difference.

Deja Vu <> Brigadier
delay time 1 knob 2 pos. switch <> 3 pos. switch & knob
3ms to 2.6 sec. <> 40ms to 5 sec.
tap tempo for longer delays to 20sec. <> 5 sec. seems to be the max

feedback/repeats 1 knob <> 1 knob

digital-analog/bucket loss 1 knob <> 1 knob

Modulation 1 knob <> 1 knob

Wet/Dry 1 knob <> 1 knob

Both offer trails and true bypass

exp. pedal 2 functions <> 5 functions

Boost N/A <> 3db±

OH, yes, the Deja Vu does offer a looping function, However, is very hard to nail just right, at least for me.

Anyone with actual use of the Brigadier around? What does it sound like?

I like the deja. Your unaffected sound is transparent. The ratio switch is useful.
I dont care about looping.
