Stuck pickup

Hi!

So, I have a 7 strig Jackson js32-7q and installed blackouts to it, sounds great, but I wanted to raise the height a little to sound better, thing is, the bridge pickup is stuck, won't move, we routed the pickup cavity for the pickup to fit in, but seems like it wasn't enough, any recommendations?
(I tried to contain my anger so that's the story in short, I'm on the edge of carving out the whole thing 'cause nothing seems to work)

Thank you for your answers! :)

Re: Stuck pickup

Yeah, I got nothing for this other than brute force, unless you're up for some delicate and patient surgical techniques involving a flathead screwdriver with a very thin tip about 1/8" wide and a small hammer to chip away just enough wood to release the pickup's feet.

Re: Stuck pickup

You will have to ease it out. Don't force it, as you don't want to crack the plastic. Gently rock back and forth while pulling...don't use tools for this.

Re: Stuck pickup

In my experience
There is a piece of foam like weather stripping
Under the pickup
That is supposed to give gentle upward pressure
It has collapsed / crushed
Remove both screws
Then remove as stated above

Re: Stuck pickup

Before you start trying to get it up and out, put tape around the outside edge. One time I was trying to get a stuck pickup out, and when it finally got free it chipped the paint beyond the pickup ring......and then, I was REALLY p1ssed!

Re: Stuck pickup

I keep that in mind, great suggestion, though I won't mind if it's nothing serious I don't plan to sell this guitar, I have a plan in mind to cover it if that happens.
