Stupid Effects Loop Question

Hey y'all, right now my setup is guitar --> dunlop crybaby from hell wah --> mxr evh phase 90 --> Peavey JSX amp. The JSX has one effects loop and I have running in it: a TC electronics chorus/flanger --> boss dd-6 delay.

I'm gonna try to explain my question as clearly as possible. Actually a few questions. Obviously when i select the fx loop switch on the JSX channel switcher, I'm not gonna always want chorus and delay on at the same time. So, is it okay to use lengthy cables in the loop so i can place the two pedals on my board with the wah and phaser, or is there any sort of loop pedal I can use to to control both pedals in the loop from my board.

Dumb question, could be all nonsense for all i know.:friday:

Re: Stupid Effects Loop Question

There's nothing wrong with running pedals in your loop on long cables, though some tone snobs might disagree. It's likely you'll notice a slight change in your tone because you're effectively doubling (or more) the length of cable in your signal, but I've done this with some previous rigs and been more than happy.

It's certainly a better solution than having chorus on when you don't want it on, or running everything front and and having your delays muddy up into the high gain channel.

Re: Stupid Effects Loop Question

I run my chorus and delay into my 2555's loop with no problems. However, I do think OD
and Distortion sound best into the front end.
