Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

OK...I love distortion/OD pedals...Can anyone have too many? This is what I am currently using and like.....Based on these could you suggest others I may like?

Lovepedal Purple Plexi
Fulltone OCD
Mighty Red Distortion
MI Audio Crunchbox

Thanks!

See Weehbo's complete line. The Bastard is an awesome all-purpose hi-gain pedal.
Wampler's Pinnacle and Sovereign.

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

If you like the MI audio, I have one of their blues boy deluxe pedals in the trading post. Its basically a super tweekable tubescreamer style OD with more gain on tap than your typical TS9. If you dig that sound its an awesome pedal.

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

I am using the Fulltone PlimSoul a lot lately, wide range of sounds, not super high gain like to play metal but hard enough play some rock.

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

Depending how much gain you're wanting, Ibanez TubeScreamer or Boss Metal Zone. Either of those should do the trick. And with the right EQ pedal, you can sound like any amp out there pretty much.

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

now that is what I'm talking about....Toooobs

EDIT-checked the price...Wow factor. I would skip this one and get a ibanez tube king ! less than half the price

If you like your boxes with valves . . . check this one out : . . . i love mine !

Warning, ALL Utoob clips of this pedal SUX - BIG TIME !!!
Do not judge this pedal base on any of them . . . i mean, they are REAL bad !!!!

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

The MXR Super Badass Distortion is really amazing. Great sounding pedal for warm OD all the way up to screaming high gain metal tones. Extremely versatile and very tone tweakable.

It is a great pedal.

Don't let the price fool you...let it entice you.

I concur. It is a great pedal. Very versatile. It does great distortion or acts wonderfully as an OD. The 3 part EQ is great for shaping tone.

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

My Jetter Helium and Jetter Red. I'll sell them pretty cheap too. $110 a piece shipped and paypaled (no gift). PM me if you're interested. :-)

If a guy is gonna go that route, I'd have to recommend the MXR Fullbore Metal over the Boss Metal Zone. I had a Metal Zone for years, but ended up giving it away to a friend after I bought my Fullbore. The Fullbore has the same amount of adjustability, but sounds much more vibrant and amp like when compared to the MZ. It made my MZ sound flat to my ears.

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

I use a Carl Martin Hot Drive N Boost Mark II and based on you preference - I believe I can recommend it with confidence.

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

+1 to the Proco Rat. It's a classic for a reason - it's a very effective and versatile tone shaping tool!

P.S. If you like the CrunchBox, odds are you're gonna love the Rat.:smokin:

Re: Suggest my next Distortion Pedal?

Tone Freak Severe!!!! Killer distortion pedal. Something with tubes, Twin Tube Mayhem. For an incredible bargain, try the Digitech Bad Monkey.
