I've played a Demon before, and while it did have a bunch of tweakability, the spring option was cool, it was a bit too much of a modern sound for me again.

Hopefully not to offend anyone, but the Demon seemed best suited for playing some downtuned Nu-Metal on a Line 6 amp insane channel. Very strong, very cutting and very modern to my ears. In that style and for those tones it would be an awesome pedal but thats just not my thing.

I just ran across a crybaby for 100 bucks at our local music store yesterday before rehersal. I heard it crying to me to take it home. Would that be a bad investment?

Depends on the model, some are priced well under $100 new, other can get up to around $150ish or higher, I think the Slash model is even $169!
