Suggestions for Ibanez RG

Ok, I've got a very rare Ibanez RG model that needs some juice! It has a basswood body, the IBZ pickups sound very very tin/twangy so I need something with good output and lots of lowend. All my jacksons I put invaders in the bridge, and that sounds GREAT. I was thinking of maybe an invader for the RG, what do you guys think?
Neck?
Dimarzios even?

Re: Suggestions for Ibanez RG

id look at the parallel axis trembuckers for that guitar, especially for the bridge. they were made for axes like that.
a patb-2 distortion would be a great choice in the bridge.

what do you use the neck pup for?

Well, the JB sounds great in my S series, but I think that it's mahogany. I tend to like Dimarzios in basswood. I would consider a Breed or Tone Zone bridge and Air Norton neck.

i used to own an RG and i put 2 emg 81's in it. it made it sound awesome. i dont know what kind of sound you are going for. mine was metal. so thats what i went with. if you dont want to go the emg route i would recommen the distortion, its not a bad choice.

I don't think Duncans would work well in that guitar. Every Ibanez RG I've heard with Duncans had something missing. I think it's the lack of a maple cap like the Music Man Axis has. I'd go with a Tone Zone/Air Norton or Air Zone/Air Norton combo.

Except the Full Shred (if that's what you're into-which I'm pretty sure you're not) and the PATB's. Those are great Basswood Ibanez pups IMO. The Zones are great, and don't forget the Super 3 for those blistering, dare I say "invaderish" tones.

I've never played a Full Shred so I couldn't tell ya if I'd like it or not. Same with the PATB's but I've heard great things about those and I'd probably like the Original PATB and Blues Saraceno model. What about the Super 2? That should sound pretty sweet in almost anything.
