suggestions for pups in a hagstrom Swede reissue

Hey guys,

Just joined. Don't know why I waited so long...

I have just got my hands on a Hagstrom Swede reissue. It's a pretty nice guitar. I want to change the pups. One of the three way switches on this guitar acts as a high filter of sorts. Provides pretty good tones actually. Very useable. Thought it was initially a gimmick of sorts, but upon playing realized they were quite cool. Anyway, playing mostly rock and classic rock with this guitar.
It's a total solid mahogany body in a LP ish design. Bridge and Neck humbuckers.
I typically play through English sounding amps like Marshall and Laney.
I was thinking about using '59's in both postions. My question is, due to the filter switch, do i need a different pick up to accommodate extra wiring? Is there actually extra wiring internally due to this switch?
The tech who repairs my guitars is away for a month, and I have yet to find a store that can answer my question.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I definitely can't answer your question (with any accuracy!), but I'll take a stab at it:

I'm almost positive you won't need certain pickups due to the high end switch.
Most likely the wiring involved in that switch is all after the pick-up selector.

But I may be wrong.

Is the neck mahogany or maple? I shall assume a rosewood fingerboard.

A mostly mahogany archtop solid body guitar is not too far removed from the constructional formula of the Gibson Les Paul Special. The obvious pickup suggestion would be P90s. For a guitar with humbucker cavities, the Seymour Duncan P-Rails.

Triple Shot mounting surrounds permit all possible coil combinations. Alternatively, you could redeploy the Hagstrom mode switches.

These guitars come with humbuckers. They just don't sound that great to me. I do have an SG with a nice pair of P-90's in them. For this guitar I am going to stick with humbuckers. I do have PRails installed in one of my custom Tele's. They are quite versatile indeed.
I think I will go for the tried and true '59 set.

thanks for your suggestions. I do think the filter switch is after the pick up switch, so yeah, it should be a non issue.
