Suitable pickup for RR1 Floyd Rose

Hey,
I'm looking for a suitable bridge pickup for my Jackson RR1. The JB already in there sucks, and I need a die hard duncan fan to give me some advice on a pickup. I play thrash/speed/death metal through a 5150II and a Marshall 4x12. What about an Invader?

first of all, what characteristics are you looking for in a pickup? Do you play lead or rhythm? what didn't you like about the JB? just so we can pinpoint the tone and stuff that you are after.

EMG's did cross my mind. Like an 89? It's just all the messing about with installing it and since the RR1 already has a Duncan in, thought i'd go down that avenue.

I'm the only guitar player and I play both lead and rhythm. I found the JB a little thin and since my 5150 already has quite a mid range sound I wanted to a sought of Children of Bodom tone.

gotcha. Well if you wanna go for a duncan, Many people hear swear by the Duncan Custom, its got a nice fat chugging tone that doesnt mush out in dropped tuning. Its supposed to be an EMG 85 equivalent in SD (although two different pickups). another great option is the Duncan Distortion.

If you want duncans, go for the Distortion or Custom, you can't go wrong.
As the other friends said here, the EMG's are a cool option too. I was afraid because of the installation and etc.. but now i've got the 81b 85n combo on a Charvel 375 superstrat and it rocks! Can do pretty heavy shred stuff with mid gain on a amp. If you play with hi gain, you can get that Slayer, Kreator, Destruction tones..

Alexi uses an EMG HZ-H4 in his custom RR-style ESP. Maybe you should go for that pickup if you want that COB tone.

Try something like the Invader, Full Shred or Live Wire Metal.

Those pickups will add low end to a brighter guitar.

RR1's rule!!!

Maybe the HZ-4 is a good idea. We opened up for COB on a couple of dates in England and Alexi's tone was huge!

Not a bad idea, I have finally made the decision myself to throw in an HZ-H4 in my LTD guitar for the bridge. However, I'm not gonna stop there, I'm gonna also put in an EMG-PA2 pickup booster to increase the output some more and make the pickup low impedence. And the neck is gonna be a duncan for sure, either a full shred or a jazz.
