Sunday V Appreciation

Dean Vs RAWK along with many others. :cool2:

This Lil 1996 USA cutie, Blackie V, is a Sporty Dawg. Formerly owned by Sammy Duette from a few bands and a Dean Endorsee when this was made in May of '96. I star'ed it up and crank it up every now and then. Looks to have a two piece Maple neck on it judging by the grain visible through the Black. Nice bark to it with a Duncan Distortion in the bridge slot and a JBN in the neck spot. :fing2:

Post up a Dean V or something else V if you pleeese!!

Re: Sunday V Appreciation

These three Jackson King Vs are going through some modification this week. Will be relocating the jack to under the lower horn (using a Strat style jack) and filling the bridge and string through holes and converting them to Strat Style hardtail bridges.

Re: Sunday V Appreciation

All I can say that V's are amazing. I always liked them but I like 'em more since I got mine, Ted McCarty was so much ahead of his time. I waited years to get one. I lost a couple opportunities to get '67RI's and when I realized Gibson won't offer the '58 style (that I prefer to the '67) in an affordable price I searched elsewhere. I didn't think twice to get a Bacchus. I had played Bacchus basses and every review online for their guitars have been excellent. The Mango series was the closer to the Korina I have always wanted. Having three Korina guitars I don't mind owning a Mango, I like having guitars made from different woods. I waited a little while to find one I really liked aesthetically. Most of the Mango guitars I saw looked like Black Korina, the one I got has figured Mango that looks like Flame Mahogany. I changed the locations of the strap holders but anything else is stock after six months of ownership. It may get some Duncans in the future.

The photos have been taken from the seller, he made a better job of showing the guitars figured woods than I ever did.

That's a MIP (Made in Philippines) guitar for those who doesn't know.

Nice! Scored this Warmoth body and neck last Summer. Korina body and Bird's Eye Maple neck. LOVE some Korina and the '58 body tops it off too.

Re: Sunday V Appreciation

Count the Vs! The red one is my beloved USA made in 1982 Dean V. I also have two Agile Hornets and a discontinued Schecter Blackjack with the MOP Ace of Spades inlay.

Re: Sunday V Appreciation

So this is it - sick... I do think that '58s look a bit better with the black plastics.

I also like this version: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bacchus-GLO...b092035&pid=100033&rk=3&rkt=4&sd=231534427001

I prefer the black pickguard myself but it's easy to change it in most guitars so it's no big deal.

That V looks amazing. Multi binding and block markers. A similar Gibson would cost five times more, if you could find one.
It's sad Gibson changes their line every year but since they stopped the Faded series there are no affordable V's. You can always find LP's & SG's but not V's. Or Firebirds and Explorers.

Re: Sunday V Appreciation

That's one of them there classy whores for politicians or movie stars, right?

I got that on the Dean forums , it had been passed around quite a bit. There was another whore" guitar on that site, but this one was even whorier than the other one. She was something special. Another forum member bought it off me as a rick Emmet clone.

Re: Sunday V Appreciation

I'm looking for another V, specifically for a 24.75 scale Dean/Gibson styled V. Anyone jacked around with a Dean VX at all? I can get one cheap, but I won't be able to play it first. I've got pickups and electronics ready to go. Mostly just wondering about the neck and how much fretwork and setup I'll have to do and if it's worth it to save up for an Epiphone or a higher end Dean. Will be for drop A SunnO))) worship.
