super 5 way series parallel wiring question

I'm putting a project together and I'm after some reassurance of a wiring if it would work or not as I had no luck with the guitarelectronics.com wiring diagram, positions 2 and 4 were coilsplits on it in their diagram so I put together this. I'm surprised Seymour Duncan doesn't have more than one at the moment super 5 way diagram on the wiring diagram generator.

Anyways this I quickly put together. Would this work? Any other super 5 way wirings for my library of wiring are greatly appreciated too.

the pink wire is connected from 2 pole 3 to 4 on pole 4 - it may be kind of reddish. I drew this diagram out quite quickly.

Re: super 5 way series parallel wiring question

Swap number two with inner coils parallel (which is like a cross between n/m and b/m)

This is the standard ibanez 5 way HH set up. They have a switch that is smaller and easier to hook up.

This is my favorite wiring scheme for HH guitars.

Re: super 5 way series parallel wiring question

Once I figure a proper way to do parallel in positions 2 and 4 that's my next wiring I want to do as I miss my old Fender Showmaster. As I've tried probably two different ways with a super 5 way and couldn't get parallel to work. Mostly obscure forums and all that came up on google.

For your suggestion So we're on the same page as in the same wiring found on the Ibanez RG7321 right? Yeah that wiring I'm going to update this diagram to in another post.

The RG7321 is
1 - bridge - series
2 - bridge / neck - coilsplit - hum cancelling
3 - bridge / neck - together in parallel - like the 2nd position on a les paul
4 - neck - parallel
5 - neck - series

Re: super 5 way series parallel wiring question

There are too many problems with that diagram to list, but it will NOT work.

I'll try to come up with a solution when I've got some spare time. Maybe someone will chime in with some help before I get back.

Re: super 5 way series parallel wiring question

I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Yeah that diagram you sent in the seymour duncan posting I've got in a guitar already and it works great.

I'm seeing the diagram closer and realized I forgot to connect the pots grounds. But I guess I'm more concerned with the switch when I drew the diagram out. The approach I did was

poles 1/2
I figured the black wire would make series for the humbuckers in position 1/3/5 with the black wire
the blue jumper turns the black wire (north start) from hot to ground for the bridge and neck pickup hot leads

on poles 3/4 is where I had to get creative
1/3/5 makes the red and white wires ground so i get a series connection out of the humbuckers
the pink wire turns them from ground into hot creating the requirements to make a pickup go parallel

any help is appreciated. After we figure it out I'll draw out the diagram correctly and post the diagram on an image sharing site to help people out on this forum

Re: super 5 way series parallel wiring question

Let me know if this looks good. I converted yours to the Seymour Duncan format but just to double check everything. I wish there was a place on the wiring generator for user creations. If it looks good I'll post it on my image hosting website to help everyone out as I hate how cloak and dagger it is to even get a hold of super 5 way diagrams.

I skimmed through your older posting and saw you needed images to make diagrams so consider this an early Christmas or birhday present. Gimp is an open source (Free) image editing software I've heard good things about too. Never tried it as I've been using photoshop CS3 since high school.

This one to make life easier for super 5 way switches

and hopefully this doesn't upset anyone since Seymour Duncan transitioned into new images for their diagrams and there is multiple sources for these images. I always liked the old seymour duncan stuff more. Nostalgia I guess. My background is multimedia and this took longer than I'll admit to make. To put these together as I had to remove wires off of images or straight up make some stuff in these. I do have photoshop but without it I'm sure you guys can do a lot of good with these as I'm just copying and pasting

one of the obscure references is some sort of bass cut I have no idea why I didn't erase it.

Re: super 5 way series parallel wiring question

The neck hot leads are wrong on your new diagram. Look closely at my drawing.

Re: super 5 way series parallel wiring question

Thanks for the heads up I had the diagram sideways when I was drawing it out and didn't catch that. I did get it working so I'm very happy with the change you suggested.

I'll update the schematic and post it on my imgur page as well as here. Now onto Juanhanglo's idea I've been putting off
