Super Distortion on Gibson Explorer

Hello guys
Finally I tried the Super D on my explorer..and it sounded great, I can get some classic rock tones. It's not what I really wanted, but the pup was without use here at home. When I get some money I'll try maybe the Pearly Gates.
Just one question: Is there any problem with the lineup of the polepieces or the spacing?? they just don't match at all.
Here is a picture,
thanks!

Re: Super Distortion on Gibson Explorer

It looks like they don't match on the higher strings in the pic. When you're playing with the Super D, does your high end sound thin? If not, I guess it doesn't really matter. If so, I think you might need to try an F-Spaced Super D.

Re: Super Distortion on Gibson Explorer

It sounds nice for me.. but could sound better for soloing, but that's ok..
But the F-Spaced aren't desingned for Fender or floyd rose like guitars?

They are, but Gibson made their bridges wider in the early/mid 90s. Plus, I think it's obvious that's what your guitar needs for matching the poles with the strings. F-spaced pickups aren't tone compensated at all. They're exactly the same as the traditional spaced pickups. They're just made to match with the wider pole spacing.

Thanks man!
I tought that any Gibson had the normal spacing, always the same
So in the case of Duncans I need a trembucker?

Yep. Duncan Trembucker-spaced or F-spaced DiMarzios. You don't have to use the Trembucker models necessarily, though. You can purchase pickups like the 59 and the JB in trembucker spacings from Musician's Friend, or wherever it is that you purchase pickups from.
