SUPER LONG Deja Vu Audio Clip?

Re: SUPER LONG Deja Vu Audio Clip?

That was cool. Maybe someday I will purchase a real amp so I can purchase real pedals.

Re: SUPER LONG Deja Vu Audio Clip?

Really good! Got a pair of big ears...haha

Hey Frank, are you in Frankfurt at the Messe now?

Re: SUPER LONG Deja Vu Audio Clip?

Loop mode is part of the Deja Vu. If you listen to my boring monologue I say how when you max out the delay time knob, it's in loop mode. Then the tap button is your "record" button. Press 'n' hold while you're playing your rhythm, and when you let go it starts the loop.

The Flanger is a $20 Dan-o Hash Browns flanger, but it's in the wet loop of the Deja Vu, which is a feature on the Deja Vu. You could put ANYTHING in there, I'm just showing how it sounds with a flanger in there. If you listen you can hear all the noise that the cheap flanger adds, but so what it sounds cool. If you had a Fulltone ChoralFlange it would sound that much better and quieter.

Re: SUPER LONG Deja Vu Audio Clip?

I had no idea that the Deja Vu had a dedicated loop feature. That's the best news I've heard all day. It's definitely going to replace my Akai Headrush delay/looper, which I noticed was sounding hissy. I'm hoping any background noise with this Deja Vu will be much quieter, and I know the delay will sound better, for sure.

I already have a Deja Vu reserved from an online retailer that said they expect the pedal to be available this month.

I'm very excited. I love delay, and the looping feature is a welcome bonus. Glad I didn't go for that Vox Time Machine.

Re: SUPER LONG Deja Vu Audio Clip?

I really liked the quasi-ring modulator sound, but the delays themselves were a bit unexciting. Kind of like the shape shifter: great unusual sounds, average non-wacky sounds.

Re: SUPER LONG Deja Vu Audio Clip?

^Then again...you're difficult:D

Haha, I'm not going to blow smoke if I don't mean it.

Truth is, I think Duncan makes a lot of amazing pickups, so I'm a bit perplexed when they develop a range of middling-sounding pedals. It's a tough market for pedals out there.

I do like that the pedals often have cool new twists and features, and I'll keep trying the pedals as they come out. I have thought about putting a shape shifter on my board alongside my Empress trem for stun-gun and protools-y tremolo effects, as the empress loses focus at higher speeds, but I'll probably go with the 1/3 sized catalinbread semaphore for that task. My pedaltrain is crowded as it is.

Re: SUPER LONG Deja Vu Audio Clip?

Frank that sounded awesome, and I'm usually not a delay person AT ALL!

Re: SUPER LONG Deja Vu Audio Clip?

Thanks so much for doing this Frank. I ordered one of these through Sweetwater after just the read on this pedal. Having had no real good audio to get me excited I was bouncing between thrill and buyers remorse until I heard this demo. Now its all thrill baby! Can't wait for it to arrive - I currently have several delay pedals both analog and digital.... maybe now I can sell a few of these to fund my next whim :)
BTW, I also own one of your booster pedals and a Twin Tube both of which are great pedals in their own right.
Thanks again.
